gardens & villas
The name Gardens & Villas was chosen to evoke the idea of living experiences seamlessly connected and intertwined with nature. Rather than viewing the house as an object, our goal was to distill the architecture down to its purest elements, allowing the home to quietly recede into the background and bring the surrounding environment into focus.
a desert temple
Desert Temple punctuates the end of a 300 ft. winding driveway framed perfectly below the Santa Rosa mountains. Its subtle angled geometry, silver sloped roofs, and sandy travertine walls mimic the adjacent mountain peaks and recall the architecture of a serene temple reimagined for comfort and lifestyle.
heavy metal
Heavy Metal is a nod to the owner’s business; supplying colossal, earth-moving construction vehicles around the world. This project not only embodies a similar size and scale, but is constructed using an industrial themed material palette with bold, striking colors blending monumental presence with a refined, modern edge.
nightingale
Located in the bird streets in Los Angeles, this project rests delicately on its sloping site with panorama views of the city below. With mid-century architectural aesthetics and a rich material palette featuring dark woods and exotic stone, Nightingale offers a glimpse into luxe living in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the city.
prism house
What do you get when a site faces in the opposite direction of the view? You create a focal point that draws people in and redirects them into a variety of new angles. Anchored by a carved fire rock at its core, the prism forces guests to circulate around and createst new pathways across the site.
Crisp angled geometry, floating walkways, expansive glass, and dramatic water features bring an elegant sense of motion to the space. Each element is meticulously crafted to frame the interplay of natural light and shadow, offering a dynamic experience that evolves throughout the day. The result is a harmonious balance of modernity, simplicity, and visual impact.
